DIY wills or Will Kits might seem like an easy, cheap option but it is so easy to get it wrong.
The one I saw this week (just like this one) is inoperative because the named beneficiaries have died and there is no substitute provision. Even though there is a will, the deceased has died "intestate". We now have to prove to the Court who is entitled to his estate by providing birth and death certificates for each of his next of kin. Messy. Expensive. Stressful for those left to sort it out. If only he had seen a lawyer about it.
